It is impossible to understand how crowded India is unless you've actually been there. The number of people jostling along the sidewalk in this photo was typical, with a few more apparently having jumped the barricades to travel nearer to the road. Note the traffic on the left side of the road -- the right side is clear due to a jam further down that prevented anyone not on a moped from getting through.
