The fact that the sun was hidden by cloud for the first few weeks of the trip made it next to impossible to get a photo that showed off the colors in the tundra. This photo was taken in overcast conditions, but gives a glimpse of the color that covered every inch of ground from horizon to horizon. And yes, that's snow on the ground in mid-August.
